Diana’s friends and neighbors say they’ve heard that there’s not a lot in the way of jobs in a place like this. Many find themselves on their own and don’t want any job at all. She adds
When I talk to this woman, it almost doesn’t sound that sexy. Does she want work at home, or on our property she asks. I never say. What if she doesn’t have a job I tell her. But she never said she would. Her friend tells me a few years ago Diana would have been a nice lady like that.
Diana’s friends say that Dylann seems totally clueless, which isn’t true. They don’t expect a good job.
It is a common question among women who’ve just married a man. But there is no simple answer. In fact, one very common answer comes from both men and women who’ve just moved into another woman’s house.
In 2008, Dylann was trying to get a part-time job in a nursing home. She and her boyfriend, Kevin, were living at the house. In 2004, they sold their home and moved into Dylann’s new apartment. The couple’s first house was sold to Kevin, who sold his house to Dylann’s new house.
They still talk about moving into a new house. It’s the best one I’ve ever owned as far as my own home can go, she says. You have to go out into your community. You need to live your life alone. No house, no life outside the house. But at least that’s where we’re all going, she says.
Kevin is now a single man living with his daughter. He said he plans to move his wife and son out of their new house in the same neighborhood where they moved into.
Kevin said that he doesn’t want to leave the house. I want to do good things and I want to be safe, he told GQ in December 2012. I want to stay home and not need to see anyone.
