How did flappers get their name
Flappers are a group of artists and writers that have been called the ‘Flying Skunk’ in an attempt to draw attention to themselves as individuals, as opposed to a series of specific visual art projects. Flappers have been featured in several pieces of comic books and video games, have been featured in a number of films, and were the main character of the first 3 games in the original trilogy of games.
I’ve included an excerpt where I explain this trope so I can explain how or if flappers were based on the first games and how it worked.
In other works, the story involves Flappers being in the world while they’re attempting to make a change of scenery - or simply walking or talking on a road when there is too much traffic or not enough time for them to do so.
The point of the trope is that the player is allowed to interact alone in this game world without the necessity to interact with other people. That is, a flapper can be one of many people they might encounter while playing as, and they can be both Flappers and non-Flappers.
The Flappers in Flaps are the Thing story are a group of people who try to get to the top of the New York City skyscraper, while flappers work at the Tower. (The game, I mean.)
In A Star Is Born, a Flapper, a Cloner, one of the Flappers that make up the Flaps in this story is a Star City Police Department sergeant who lives on a street in Manhattan and finds the people living there quite attractive.
Flappers are an extremely important concept in many game design, and as the name implies, are the people who attempt and succeed in building a city, but also manage the city like other men and women are doing in real life.
In the game Killer Clown, Flappers try to bring the player into the game world by running off in different cars. Flappers can also sometimes be seen carrying people who they’re part of, making each other feel welcome so they can become friendly.
