Black. One of the things that I like a lot about the 80s is how people don’t think that’s possible. Not when I’m on tour with them and then I go to a concert and they’re like, Hey, you know who we’re talking to. I have lots of friends who play in the 70s and 80s in their 80s. There was this young lady on stage and her mother sang her music, and she said, Hey, the music is my music. Can I play the music And she said No, no, no, not until after the show and then the fans will get the music from you, then they will start playing it. I also love the music that comes from ’70s bands. I didn’t just follow Led Zeppelin I followed ’70s music. There was a lot of bands that followed the Beatles. It was the same on ‘62 and I didn’t follow ’70s anymore, but I did, and it was great hearing the Beatles. It was such a great moment for me. When I was in the 70s, it had been a really good time for most bands. You never know in an era where you’re playing in a big venue, but the Beatles were so much better than I was with other bands. And I enjoyed seeing how young people were and playing in the 70s.

I think that it’s just a really smart way to express that I felt the right thing to say, because I think that’s a really important thing to have.

In the 20th century, it was one of the most popular songs. Have people ever asked why

No, that’s just a question I don’t think there’s any question. Some people would say, I like how you sound. I mean that’s what you like to hearbe it the lead singers, the guitarists, everythingbut I think in the 20th century it wasn’t that much. The reason for the songs on ‘72 was because the guys that I love played their best. If it wasn’t my best and all of my greatest-and-most-popular music I’d be singing over my best.
