It’s hard to believe that it took 20 years for a young man to fall into the arms of the man who’s right next to him.

And that’s exactly what happened when Daniel S. Pemberton learned he was being groomed and shot.

Pemberton, 15, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and six other counts of attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of 24-year-old Austin B. Tresola.

An attorney for Tresola was asked Wednesday by the Philadelphia City Attorney about whether he would seek a protective order against the shooting victim.

When asked whether his client would seek it, police spokesman Brian Tambura said. He’s not concerned right now that he may want it, he added.

On Wednesday, police learned that Tresola had been targeted by an unknown assailant, and that someone had fired shots into the air from outside the home. Tresola has three children at the family home.

Police believe that the incident may have been the work of a lone man.

They said one of the suspects was apparently drunk at the time, and the victim was in a wheelchair. An anonymous resident has been arrested in relation to the death of Tresola.

Bearing down on the man who shot Tresola, police said they believe the man had been targeted with a knife.

The man shot at the two is now facing charges of attempted first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.
