In The Flappers of London (1909), a popular British music video and the first for a new band that took its moniker from Britain’s Flop Brothers, the group is told they have two main roles. One plays a flapper, who has to take part mainly in dance. The other roles of the group a dancer, who plays the flapper, and a dancer, a flapper who follows the flapper. The song itself is pretty much the same as the Beatles song from their first album It’s Not Easy Being a Flapper by the same name.
One thing to remember for the group is that they’ve been known to wear tuxedos and other tuxedos as their main outfit throughout their shows. But on this version, the girls are wearing tuxedos with different colors.
So what’s the story behind that, and if so (as many of you guessed it), is it a flapper or not
In the original album, Flappers of London had this message
We must always wear our Flappers hats. We dress ourselves better when we dance to the Beatles songs. We like doing something and doing well. We like performing. We like being famous. We want to do something. Flappers and Flappers of London, you are special for us. We are special for all of you. We will not stop working for you.
If this is how a flapper feels, then perhaps those flappers have gotten lucky. According to the BBC report,
The flappers and flappers of London and its outskirts are a rare but extremely popular group to watch all the time. The group is a great part of the London dance scene. Even the most casual flappers like us enjoy them. Even our young girls like them. It’s not that we want to do anything except give the group its proper name we want to let their music continue even after our death.
So how did I get into flappers
The real question is do girls want to get on with their careers and get married after all (Well, they do eventually, but the idea of not getting married is not the most fun.)
