JEFFREY We had a lot of different names. We had all kinds of new names. A few of our previous names were, I think, more like the first one or something. I got to meet a lot of new people so I’m glad to have the place to meet and see all kinds of different people from the country.

It wasn’t like we were looking for the first flapper. I just wanted to be familiar with these people.

What was it like to be a guy who was at a game conference

JOELSON Yeah, well, I was in Chicago a lot. I got a lot of media attention, so it wasn’t just me, but a lot of people. I wasn’t even in the program, so I actually had to be really focused.

So what exactly did you guys want from the start Was there a plan to change anything

JEFFREY We wanted to change everything. I wanted to be different. I wanted to create some more personality and I wanted to change how I approach things. It had to be my personality, my approach. We needed to find a balance on things so I didn’t end up using a lot of terminology.

And I didn’t like it that they used the word flapper.

JOELSON Well, it was pretty obvious and we felt like we needed to tell people what to think. I think that probably should have been just a statement or some variation of why would you say this when you know it’s something that I want to say to people, and who knows

And people said, Why did you choose this name

It didn’t work.

Well, it wasn’t a choice.

They said If you like flappers more, but if you want to get to know other people better, why use flappers

It didn’t work. It was too simple of a statement

JEFFREY But I thought, like, well, what do you want, really What does it have to do with flappers
