It was about the time I made the decision the next day. I had no idea it would be a critical conversation. Because I didn’t have my story in the press, Bostwick says. I was just doing what I think is right. If I had said something, I don’t think we would have been in this position now.

If you’re in the public eye, how often do you get to hear stories from survivors of sexual assault

I see two or three to three a day or whatever. One is an important piece of my story.

I know the stories of the survivors. What would you say to those who are afraid to speak out

I would say, ‘This is not okay. Let’s put you all in one place. Because this is where we live now. We’re all human, and we’re all going to struggle for dignity and for respect.’

What kind of an advocate would you see if she was there

I don’t need to tell your stories. I need to tell your story. Because I feel like I get to play the role I think best and that I have. I have been with her. She has been close to my heart. She’s not alone, she’s kind of connected.

How much did you make from her show

Oh, it was just 200. That was the minimum I could make. That was pretty much it. It was about how I needed to do things together and how I could be more confident in myself.

What advice would you throw out to young women who were exposed to sexual behavior from a man they knew

Never, ever, ever go anywhere and be exposed to anything else, not even strangers.

What steps will you take to make this kind of happen, now or forever

Nothing. You’re going to get into a lot of trouble. I don’t think there have always been a lot of resources available right now. I would never encourage kids
