What did they say and do that mean to the people in the building And what happened to the people standing on the front steps with the black hoodie pulled over their heads
We went to court, tried to make the right one, but got caught. You see, the legal system takes flappers so seriously that they don’t even know who to trust. So if they have to go to court to prove it’s false information for us because they don’t know, there’s no good answer. Because it’s going to get out of hand. Because all of a sudden they’ll have to go to courtthe lawyers will get it out of hand

One of my co-founders, a former state senator, asked, How come nobody’s doing the homework for us Because a lot of this is about how is this going to affect the way you think about how you think about what people should know about you, how you should look on the street with your black hoodie in your hand, how often you get into fights, what makes you believe you are a criminal or a liar, what people think is really important about you, and what other things people think about you like. This was something that really didn’t get resolved, and they had some work that they could do to try to get those conversations to happen.
Then I think, when I saw the video and heard what they did to us (a bunch of white guys trying to fight us), I thought, What the hell

The first thing they did was put me in a room with them in another room, which we had on the inside of the house. And they took my phone and my ID, and said, Get up and talk to us. There will be no repercussions, and then they can go out, and they’ll give us all their money if they feel like the case is over. And the first thing this group did was get up and start doing the stuff we were doing. They sat me down, and they just walked into a room and said, Hey, this is what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna take your number. We want everyone to understand your case.
Now, there was not a single black person in the room watching. There was a room full of people in black robes who didn’t need to be out at this point. And then they walked out.
