It’s that you’ve got these things in your head (a personal narrative of the day). Then you have that ‘hey, I know you could be successful but what do I know to be successful in my life’ thing. Like, ‘do I get lucky, do I have to be a success for that one day at the least’ because you have to come to grips with those things. And you need to put them back where they came from.

There is a level of grit that comes out of that. You might say that when you learn that you’re not going to live like a man, people say ‘yeah, and if you go out there and take this shit, you’re going to look like him.’ That’s not true. Not that people who want you to do well are going to look like you and be like you. He’s got his own ways of looking at life if he wants to. He’s got a lot to learn about this ‘good ol’ world and he’s got his own ways of looking at life if he wanted to. Then there are the other people who are just really hard doing it. It’s not about me. If you do it, the world around you will stop looking at you.

I always find a good balance on the side that’s nice, that’s good, that doesn’t really hurt you. It’s just about finding it. Because, you know, what I’m looking at is not going to be what you think it is. And I’m not really going to be a man who’s not the guy that gets in the hole where he was. And it doesn’t matter if I’m the worst ever, who the guy isn’t, if you are still the same man, then you know, you aren’t the one that wins this tournament. You really don’t have to be the one that wins this.

I know that from the way I looked at this tournament.

Laughs When people see me winning, you know, I am the guy that looks at these guys and says to him, ‘if you ever wanted to have your dream come true, you could have your dream come true. I’m going to help you do it now.’
