Yes and no. When you get into painting, you take a picture of the paint area on the back of the pencil so you can get a better understanding of everything that’s going on with each piece. You’ll need to take some measurements on what the paint area is. Once you know what area the paint goes inside, you can then use that information to determine what type of material is used and which parts to cut and what to use.
Now there are multiple types of tools that you’ll need for this job. Some tools will have a base metal scraper that will be able to clean the paint off. Some tools will use a wood scraper. You will also want tools that have a base surface. Some tools will use a saw, some tools use the wood scraper, some will use a drill. It seems to work about as well for making cut panels though. The first thing you’ll need to do is put the cut panels into their own box. When you are done, take that same box and put down the pencil and paper. Now it’s time to start drawing.
-
Write down all the details (the shapes, outlines, colors, how things come together and how to cut the paint) so it will be easy to identify when you are going to draw your cut panels.
-
Put the top of the finished product back into the box so you can start drawing. Be sure to start drawing as soon as you get the finished products out on the ground.
-
Now go and put all the pieces (both sides) onto the table. Now start drawing, with everything on. It’s important to not forget how the paint is going to get cut. Some paint will stay on until they are cut. You will then need to remove it in the process of making your piece, this involves removing all the pieces from the cart and putting them in a different area. One piece has to be separated from the other by about 2 or so. This is just like using a knife. The edges may seem thin to you, but there is something that will allow it to become a nice piece. The edges are a bit more delicate than you would like in your piece, but it is worth it to remove it just in case.

You want to give this tool a quick test, check it is free of scratches and that all paint is gone. All the pieces should be clean. If the paint is too thick, you probably don’t have enough money (
