MADISON, Wis. – The Milwaukee Bucks’ trade rumors began Tuesday when former Milwaukee Bucks forward Jared Sullinger, an unrestricted free agent, was released by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Sullinger, 26, signed with Milwaukee last summer and has spent the last 15 years scoring at least 100 points. He is still the highest-paid player on a contender in 2016-17.
I’m so happy to be going to Milwaukee and I’m so excited about this opportunity, Sullinger said in a recent telephone interview. The Bucks made it simple. I came to Milwaukee to try to win now because I love them and I have all the talent (of a player) from Milwaukee and to get to a new situation is very important. I’ll be ready soon. I’m excited about this opportunity, I’ll be ready.
In Milwaukee, Sullinger averaged 27.0 points against the Hawks, 8.0 rebounds in 11 games and 1.8 assists in 18 games, making the first-team All-WCHA in his career. The Bucks finished 19-1 this season with Sullinger on the roster. He is the first player selected in the second round, No. 5 overall in this February’s draft.
His career, from 2010-2012, ended when he tore his ACL.
When you get a lot of money as an All-Star, and you have all the talent in the world, it makes sense because there are so many opportunities and you have to choose and you have one guy who’s willing to go out there and do it, Nene said. He (Sullinger) brought that confidence, and it will be him coming to Milwaukee. He’s a young guy and young players are going to love this team. But, of
