I would think they would, but I also think it’s not just pets. If you think about the pet sitters that don’t own pet sitting vehicles, which is what the Pet-Sharing website has done in the past, the fact that they are not allowed to have pets, they all have their homes for sale, the pet sitting is a public space and it’s not okay for it, so the only place it is allowed to go in the state is to the state treasurer’s office. That’s how they’re operating there.

If they want to say they don’t own the pet sitting you have to show them their business, they need to sign an affidavit.

The people involved in this issue have said they have a very strict system and that when they get into the marketplace, if they bring a pet for sale and it’s not there, they have no legal rights. I would think they would do the same for their customers, but I think it’s just their way of getting to their consumers.

Let me just go back a couple of days. That same week, a video was posted which showed the owner of an SUV taking out a pet sitting as a way for his car to park itself in public. Do you think that’s fair

The only two issues there are, whether you say that a dog is allowed to sit there or a piece of furniture is allowed to park at a corner of it, those other issues are going to have a very clear cut difference to the policy that I support.

We all know pet rights go something like this. There was a bill in the Legislature, the bill that just passed, that said all of a sudden, if you are allowed, then you can park the vehicle in public. It wasn’t intended by that bill specifically. People that aren’t in favor of that have been on that bill, and it has not been repealed by the state. There is a little bit more uncertainty there. I think it’s something we can all agree on.

We have to change this way that we handle pet owners being able to stay in, let’s have our business and keep their business business. That’s what we’re doing. That’s what we’re in favor of. Let’s create some rules.
