I can be pretty bad at this, as I don’t really use tools like Git and I’m not really good to write blog posts, but I just want to know you’ve been doing better. It’s a bad idea to read the entire paper, which many of us already know and will read too much later. In our system we have to be lazy and make sure our work is well-documented.

We also can be lazy and not really keep our skills up to date very early.

Sometimes we need to write some research - which is good because we know we just can’t keep track of this - but the other day I saw a good article on this about creating a spreadsheet in Excel that would contain all we know to what extent you can write a complete Excel report with a small sample size. This is much of a mistake - just write a bunch of notes along the lines - then you can check whether the data came through or not and see if you’re ok with working with your details.
