By By Janet Rodeau February 10 2017 in Environment India A new map shows that the climate in the country is still more uncertain than in the past. The United Nations has released its Climate Change Index, which is a comprehensive look at the globe’s climate through different measures, such as sea level rise, air pollution and land use change. The latest edition is expected to be released on 30 November and will offer global warming experts insight into the current state of the climate. The last 10,000 years might be the last time we’ll truly know the truth about any subject, but what we’ve found is that one climate change fact is far more important than any other. We have a very good chance to end up with an accurate climate map, one that tells those of us who will be doing the modelling, to understand and debate the issues, said A K Datar from the Global Change Institute of India (GCSI). The new climate map, titled Global warming A Real World Survey, provides a global view of the ongoing debate over climate. While the map has a wide range of features to choose from, it covers almost all parts of the earth including oceans, continents, glaciers, ice sheets, and even the oceans themselves. The data shows that most of countries are living more or less in a more ‘warming global environment’ and that the climate for those living in those places is less warming than it was in the past. This was found at national level, with the number of inhabitants and the countries in the world experiencing the most changes between 1901 and 2012. In India where more than one in five adults were living at or below their means in 2013 this is one of the most dramatic shifts in the global climate since the 1950s. As one of India’s most populous nations, Mumbai became the fourth most populous city in the world in 2013 with over 12 crore people living in the city, with an average age of 64. The new study, titled Global Climate Change A Real World Survey, shows that in 2012 the average income in India was 34,000. However, the number of households growing in the city is the same as the population of any other urban country the lowest percentage in any major country in the world. In 2013, the urban India witnessed the lowest share of total population change between 2001 and 2011. The total population has increased by 3.5 per cent in a nine-month period
