An Oklahoma man was arrested after he was caught on a surveillance video apparently driving a stolen car and then driving home in a police van, authorities say.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said that Michael S. Lee was arrested at about 622 p.m (0900 GMT) on Friday, March 30, for allegedly driving a car of unknown value to a parking lot.

He was also spotted doing some shopping for his children before leaving.

Lee said that he did not have a licence and he was on probation until his arrest.

According to a post on the website of the Highway Patrol, Lee had worked with police since May.

He was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of criminal mischief and drug possession charges.

According to the website, Lee had been driving alone for three hours before the incident and that he had been home with his daughters. He was taken to the University of Arkansas hospital.

The website further said that one of the children had had the same seizures as Lee.

Lee will have a court appearance and the police will determine his whereabouts.
