On January 7th, 2004, the world’s richest people were divided up into four groups

The top 5 of billionaires and the bottom 1 of billionaires (excluding the ultra-wealthy, who make up 80 of all billionaires. There are an estimated 20,000 billionaires in Forbes’ list of the wealthiest individuals). They include Bill Gates, David Rockefeller, Bill Clinton, Bill Clinton Global, and Richard Branson.

There is a growing scientific consensus that the global wealth gap (the number of people on some end of it who own or control some piece of it) is growing, growing, and growing at an accelerating rate.

As of 2014, there were over 40,000 wealth-creating corporations, almost two thirds of them owned, controlled, and publicly traded by people who have an income. They include a few multinationals, some of them worth billions or hundreds of billions, and some of them with no identifiable income.

The rich continue to increase their share in our society through an ever more widening scale of taxation and control. They may think that because I own a house or house, I can spend 100 a month on taxes, but since I don’t have a mortgage in New York or pay taxes in other places, I can never invest there. That means the top 5 of the world’s gross private income is now taxed at a lower and lower level than any number of other taxpayers, and not a single one of them has to worry about a refund.

They believe this tax increase will lead to a decrease in tax on their net assets or, when a higher percentage of the net income goes overseas, to another tax.

This is another example of a tax on in-out wealth that is making people more insecure about their own security interests.

As this tax increases, so does our economy.

The next time you think that you are rich, pay a look to someone of your class and see if they will help you get out of this hole.
